Pork
The meat content of Polish pork has increased from 43% in the early 1990s to 57%. Polish pork is valued worldwide thanks to its high production standards and strict supervision at every stage – from breeding, through slaughter, to storage. These standards include compliance with EU standards on hygiene, animal welfare, animal tracking and identification, and veterinary drug control, ensuring high quality and safety of the meat, as well as exceptional taste.
Awareness, responsibility, and care are key values guiding Polish pork production. Operations are based on strict adherence to animal welfare, public health, and environmental protection standards. As a member of the EU since 2004, Poland is also subject to the EU’s Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards, which constitute a comprehensive set of guidelines and standards. The implementation of these practices aims to promote safe, sustainable, and responsible agricultural production.
